"TEXEL APRILE 2016"
...le emozioni non sono mancate nel visitare l’Isola di Texel (Olanda) che è raggiungibile dopo essersi imbarcati dal porto di Den Helder.
Giunti sull’Isola, decidiamo prima di andare al nostro albergo, di fare un giro, dopo circa due ore tra macchina e tratti a piedi ci rendiamo conto della bellezza del posto. Coltivati in grossi appezzamenti di terreno i coloratissimi tulipani fanno da cornice all’infinito verde lussureggiante che circonda case e strade. Gli uccelli sono dappertutto, sui pascoli, sugli specchi d’acqua, nei giardini e tra le case.
Il clima per la breve permanenza sull’Isola è stato bellissimo con il vento sempre presente ma non sgradevole.
Lungo la strada che ci ha portati alla parte orientale dell’isola che va da Oudeschild fino al faro di De Cocksdorp, abbiamo osservato numerosi stagni, tutti controllati da Birdwatcher che con cannocchiale e macchina fotografica erano lì pronti anche a richiamare qualcuno che si spingeva oltre il limite consentito.
Nella parte occidentale invece, siamo stati nelle riserve di De Slufter e in quella di De Muy fino ad arrivare nel centro cittadino di De Kong, molto caratteristico, dove abbiamo conosciuto un nostro connazionale che lavorando in un caratteristico ristorante, ci ha preparato una gustosa pizza.
Durante la nostra visita ci siamo ritrovati dinanzi ad una splendida testa Moai che a quando sembra è stata donata dall’Isola di Pasqua all’isola di Texel.
Date le numerosissime piste ciclabili dell’Isola una passeggiata in bicicletta non deve mancare per poter ammirare qualche altro scorcio di paesaggio dove l’auto non può arrivare.
D'importanza e principale attività economica è l'allevamento, tra cui spicca quella della pecora che produce una pregiatissima lana.
Come dicevo all’inizio le emozioni non sono mancate, ma vedere tanti uccelli il più delle volte non proprio confidenti e non poterli fotografare come ci aspettavamo, ci ha un po’ amareggiato.
E’ stata comunque una bellissima esperienza anche perché con l’amico con cui condivido l’amore per la natura e la fotografia naturalistica c’è grande stima ed una profonda amicizia.

... The emotions are not missed when visiting the Texel Island (Netherlands) which is reachable after having embarked from the port of Den Helder.
We arrived on the Island, before we decide to go to our hotel, to take a ride, after about two hours in the car and walking involved we realize the beauty of the place. Cultivated in large tracts of land and the colorful tulips are the endlessly lush green frame surrounding houses and streets. Birds are everywhere, on pastures, over water, in the gardens and homes.
The climate for a short time on the Island was beautiful with the wind always present but not unpleasant.
Along the road that led us to the eastern part of the island ranging from Oudeschild to the lighthouse at De Cocksdorp, we observed numerous ponds, all controlled by that Birdwatcher with binoculars and camera were there also ready to call someone who went further the allowable limit.
In the western part, however, we were in the reserves De Slufter and De Muy on that until you get in the city center of De Kong, very characteristic, where we met our countryman that by working in a characteristic restaurant, has prepared a tasty pizza .
During our visit we found ourselves in front of a beautiful Moai head as it seems was donated from Easter Island to the island of Texel.
Given the numerous bike paths island a bike ride must not fail to admire some other glimpse of the landscape where the car can reach.
On the importance and main economic activity is farming, most notably that of sheep that produces the highly prized wool.
As I said at the beginning emotions are not lacking, but to see so many birds more often than not quite confident and not being able to take pictures As we expected , we have a little ' disappointed us .
E 'was still a great experience because with the friend with whom I share a love of nature and wildlife photography there is great respect and a deep friendship.
